Brinton's Dam
Brinton Lake
10-20 block of Lake Road / location estimated
“Brinton’s Dam was an artificial pond, located on a side road above Concordville. It was the largest pond in the vicinity of our house, perhaps 2,000 feet long and 500 feet wide. On the sloping bank was a grove of oak trees between the road and the pond. Our picnics were held on the ground in this grove of trees” (Hannum, p. 76).
Brinton's Lake is an artificial pond located above Concordville. The Brinton family owned the pond and adjoining property at the time of the 1924 tour but frequently allowed people to picnic along the pond's banks "provided no trash was left behind."
Today, the pond is surrounded by a neighborhood. There are posted signs that a resident must accompany visitors.
